What Does A Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator Do?

The role of the Street Co-ordinator is to:-

* Be the Schemes contact with individual households, Town Council and the Police

* Recieve all communications from the Town Council, the Police, National Neighbourhood Watch and Support Groups including the West Area Police "Ringmaster" Voice messaging information service

* Be the Schemes "Voice" in communicating relevant crime information in the area

* Communicate information from other members of the Watch to the Police and Town Council and act as a link with other Scheme Co-ordinators at the quarterly "Town Watchers" meeting. There are a number of tasks that a Scheme Co-ordinator bcomes involved in with their "Contact Persons":-

* The distribution of household stickers, membership packs, incident report cards and newsletters
* Passing information between the Police and individual household members
* Encouraging Scheme members to inform the Police quickly of any suspicious and criminal incidents
* Keeping in touch with neighbouring Street Co-ordinators in the area at the quarterly Town Watchers Meetings
* Identifying any local environmental problems and reporting these to either the Town, District or County Councils
* Ensuring your Scheme is represented at Community Meetings Braunstone LPU Community Meetings
