Funding for Young People's Projects

Braunstone Town Youth Council have received £1200 from CAFFY toward the cost of play equipment for older children on Holmfield Park. The play equipment is part of a larger project to improve facilities on the park for all residents.

The Youth Council have also recently received a grant from CAFFY in the sum of £330 towards replacement DJ equipment.

Braunstone Town Youth Fund

In 2003/2004, Councillor Mr P Reyat, chose to raise funds for towards a Braunstone Town Youth Fund during his term in office as Town Mayor. The aim of the fund is to encourage young people in Braunstone Town to try new activities that are not normally available to them or to assist them in a project. He was successful in raising a total of £9,072.87.

If you are involved in a youth group or activity and have a project in mind that would benefit from funding, please write to Mr Reyat at the Town Council's offices, giving details of the project, how much funding you are applying for and how many young people would benefit from the project.

Projects that have been successful in obtaining monies from the fund are:-

4th Leicester Scout Group - £800 towards a trip to London and overnight stay on HMS Belfast

Braunstone Town Youth Council – £400 towards a Performing Arts Project

3rd Braunstone Town Guides - £1,500 towards camping equipment
