Heraldic Arms

Arms : - Gules (red) ; A fess Asure Wavy (blue) ; A Maunch Argent (Medieval sleeve, silver or white), Two Roundels or (circles yellow or gold), a Cross Argent (silver or white).

The Crest : - on a torse or wreath of the colours, a stag of the forest with its dexter leg on a mound of brown, braun stones.

The Mantling : - around the top and sides alludes to connection with the crusades.

The Motto : - Spectemur Agendo – translated reads – Let us be judged by our Actions.

The red field, is the field of Braunstone landowners including Peverel, De Grentsmainel, De La Zouch, Herle, De Ferrars, Cantelupe, Slorry, Vaux and Harcourt families.

The Shoverller ducks, are from the Herle family who intermarried with the Hastings.

The Blue Fess, from the arms of Burdet the first known family in Braunstone, also Grey, Erdington, Camville and Anstey.

The Yellow Roundels, from the arms of de La Zouch who intermarried with the Burdets.

The white cross, refers to the families of Peverel, Slorry and Winstanley, the latter family residing in Braunstone from 1651 to 1925.

The Sleeve of Maunch, refers to the Hastings family who held much land locally from 1367 to 1650.

The Yellor Wavy lines, allude to the Drummond Family who held much land to the south east of Braunstone and considerable land in Lubbesthorpe.

The Coat of Arms was granted to Braunstone in 1976.
