THE DISTRICT OF BLABY (ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION IN
DESIGNATED PUBLIC PLACES ORDER) 2005

The Council of the District of Blaby has made an Order under Section 13(2) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001.

The effect of the Order will be that a police officer will have the power to require a person in the designated place not to drink alcohol where the officer believes that the person is, has or intends to do so. The officer can also require the person to surrender any alcohol. Failure to comply with the officer’s request without reasonable excuse will be an arrestable offence.

A copy of the draft Order, a copy of the plan showing the proposed designated places and a copy of the Council’s reasons can be inspected at the Main Reception Desk at Blaby District Council, Narborough from 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

The designated places are the following streets and land.

Leicester Forest East Park including Car Park
King Drive
Kings Walk
Spinney Play Area
Wardens Walk
Holmfield Playing Fields
St Andrews Church Grounds
